For many vacuum-packed products, the packaging film is only as protective as its least-protective side. A conventional thermoforming machine may use an aluminum composite bottom film with a transparent plastic top film. While this is sufficient for many applications, the transparent side still allows light through and provides a different barrier performance from the aluminum side.
Our Automatic Double Sided Aluminum Film Thermoforming Machine takes a different approach.
Both webs are made from aluminum composite film. The lower web is formed into the product cavity, while the upper web is heated and formed to match it. After product loading, the two sides are brought together for vacuuming or gas flushing and heat sealing.
The result is a fully enclosed aluminum-film package without using pre-made aluminum foil bags.

That configuration makes the LSM series particularly relevant to products where light protection and high barrier performance matter as much as vacuum packaging itself.
The main difference is not simply the appearance of the finished package. It changes the barrier structure of the package.
With aluminum composite film on both sides, the package offers stronger protection against light, oxygen and moisture than a structure using aluminum film on only one side.
This is useful for products such as light-sensitive pharmaceutical materials, selected prepared foods, dried specialty products and other goods where exposure to light or water vapor can affect quality during storage.
For buyers already using ordinary thermoforming equipment, the LSM series can therefore be considered when the existing film structure does not provide the required barrier level.
After the product is placed into the formed cavity, the package can be processed under vacuum.
For products that should not be compressed heavily, gas flushing can be used instead or combined with vacuum packaging. Nitrogen or carbon dioxide can be introduced according to the product and preservation process.
The choice between vacuum and modified-atmosphere packaging should be based on the product itself rather than using one setting for every application.
The Automatic Double Sided Aluminum Film Thermoforming Machine is designed around continuous roll-film operation. Upper and lower film feeding systems use tension control and alignment mechanisms to keep the two webs synchronized during forming and sealing.
The production sequence is handled through a PLC and touchscreen interface, with adjustable parameters for film feeding, vacuum time, sealing temperature and cooling.
Once the appropriate parameters have been established for a product, they can be stored for repeat production.
The finished packs are separated after sealing, while the remaining edge film can be collected automatically. This keeps film handling within the machine instead of requiring a separate waste-removal operation.

In pharmaceutical packaging, it can be considered for selected light-sensitive products, herbal medicines, powders, granules and medical materials requiring moisture and light protection.
For cooked and prepared foods, it can be used for products such as braised meat, poultry products, frozen foods and dried aquatic products, subject to the required film and sealing process.
